History

Unitas was formed in December 1997 by a select number of the UK's major independent insurance brokers. The aim being to offer customers a wider range of products and advisory services on a national scale. Today there are 10 Members operating from a wide network of offices, with representation across the UK.

Controlling premiums in excess of £350 Million, Unitas Members are amongst the most successful insurance advisors and risk managers within the UK Insurance market.

The Unitas Proposition

The Proposition is built around the unique regional strengths of each Member. By harnessing these synergies, Unitas is able to offer National Strength with Local Service and the capacity to deliver bespoke customer solutions.

Objectives

The main focus in 2008 will be on:-

• Market Relationships - Through working with a partner Insurer Panel, all parties have committed to structured, quarterly meetings in order to monitor performance. In addition, we will be developing new products and investigating opportunities for growth
• Unitas Underwriting Agency (UUA) -Following recruitment of Mark Boucher as Chairman of UUA, launch of this new venture will be 2009. All Members will have an equal share and it will not be open to non-Members.
• Training & Development -Following the success of the Executive Training held at Manchester Business School, Unitas will look to deliver an agreed, high calibre programme of events.
• Unitas Intranet - working closely with carefully selected business partners
• Intranet Development -Through working with our Partner Insurers and the Unitas Technical Group, this Member only site will continue to be developed and extended in order to provide a relevant, working tool for all staff members.
